Successful Twinning Workshop |

On September5, 2007, the BISTA project faciliated a very successful Twinning Workshop hosted by Royal NIVRA for members of the Association
of Professional Accountants and Auditors of the Republic of Moldova (ACAP) ACAP and Society of Certified
Accountants and Auditors of Kosovo (SCAAK).
ACAP and SCAAK are
party to respective Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with Royal NIVRA.
The MOUs call for Royal NIVRA to provide technical assistance,
mentoring and guidance to ACAP and SCAAK by assisting these
organizations in strengthening the institutional capacity, accelerating
the development of the
capabilities and competencies of the accountancy profession in Moldova
and Kosovo, and participating in a twinning model between these
professional
accountancy bodies.
Workshop speakers included Gert Smit, CEO of Royal NIVRA, who opened
the daylong workshop, Paul Hurks and Arnout van Kempen, both of Royal
NIVRA, who conducted a session on the International Federation of
Accountants (IFAC) Statements of Membership Obligations, except SMO 2
(Education) (Workshop SMOs), Dr.Gert Karreman, BISTA Principal Investigator, who discussed IFAC SMO 2 and the International Education Standards as well as accounting education benchmarking (SMO 2 Requirements). The
workshop ended with a presentation by Roman S. Ponos, BISTA Monitoring
and Evaluation Specialist, who led an interactive session and
discussion among the participants on the importance of monitoring and
evaluating the twinning program between NIVRA-ACAP and NIVRA-SCAAK (2007-09-05 Presentation M&E Plan for BISTA Twinning Model)
